The urn grave is one of the well-known Royal tombs of Rock city of Petra. It was built around AD 70. It was named after the small urn-shaped decoration in the gable area of the facade. The three window-like recesses in the upper area between the half-columns are burial niches. The window directly above the doorway was added later when the urn grave in 446 AD Byzantine church was converted. A courtyard framed by columns was laid out in front of the sandstone facade. Five columns of this colonnaded courtyard have been preserved. Another special feature of the grave complex is the two-story brick vault below the grave facade.
